Rosin

What are the origins of rosin?

Although the origins of the creation of rosin is a little fuzzy, the popularity of this method has exploded within the last few years. Many agree that the early roots of rosin come from 1970’s Jamaica. It re-emerged in 2006 when someone going by the avatar “Compashun” posted their findings in ICMag, but rosin really took off in 2015 after Phil “Soilgrown” Salazar – a hashish connoisseur, was using a hair straightener to press his hash into wafer thin sheets when he noticed he had pressed a bit too hard. It caused the hash to produce an oil. After trying it, he realized the potential of this new substance and began to share it with the online world. This would change the landscape of the cannabis marketplace forever as others started utilizing this method.

How is Rosin made?

At GreenStone Manufacturing, our rosin, the ooey-gooey potent concentrate, is created by starting with the best of our best bubble hash. We use a PurePressure press to create clean, solventless, chemical-free hash rosin by utilizing pressure and heat to extract the oil, rich with terpenes and cannabinoids.

Using a mesh bag, the bubble hash is pressed between two heated plates. This process expels the oily resin onto a collection surface where it is gathered and packaged to be sold in our partner retail dispensaries. This process is completely chemical and solvent-free, which allows us to deliver the absolute highest quality cannabis products completely devoid of harmful by-products.

How do you consume and store Rosin?

Rosin is considered a full-melt product because when it’s heated it leaves no plant matter behind. Many people enjoy using rosin because of it’s very concentrated potency. Because the trichomes have been broken open, the cannabinoids required to create a euphoric experience are exposed and accessible. To utilize rosin, you’ll need a dab rig, nail, and torch, or a terp pen. Although it can be intimidating, many who venture into rosin territory fall in love with the ritual and process to achieve a rosin-based euphoria.

The best way to keep your rosin fresh and at the best quality is to store it in your refrigerator in an air-tight container.
